A Little Village man died early Friday, twenty days after he was injured in a crash on the Eisenhower Expressway near west suburban Elmhurst.

At 6:06 a.m. June 10, Esteban Sanchez, 46, was driving westbound on Interstate 290, about a half mile west of York Road, when his vehicle was rear-ended and pushed into a ditch, where it rolled over, according to Illinois State Police.

Sanchez was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, police said. He died twenty days later.

An autopsy Saturday found Sanchez died from multiple injuries he suffered in the crash, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
