A 16-year-old boy was among three people wounded in an exchange of gunfire Sunday night in the Fernwood neighborhood on the Far South Side.

About 9:05 p.m., the group was sitting on a porch in the 10100 block of South LaSalle when someone wearing a white t-shirt ran up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police. Someone in the group then returned fire.

A 48-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

The teenager showed up at Roseland Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left arm and leg, police said. A 58-year-old man was shot in the left arm and was taken in good condition to Christ.

A blood trail led from the porch to the alley, where a weapon was recovered, police said. A neighbor told investigators that the shooting may have stemmed from a fight at a house party.

Area South detectives were investigating.
