A 30-year-old man was shot Thursday afternoon in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

He was on a basketball court at 2:54 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Dante when people approached him and fired shots before running away, according to Chicago Police.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
