Authorities are investigating the domestic violence-related deaths of a woman and her 4-year-old son Thursday night in west suburban Stone Park.

Detectives from the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the deaths of 31-year-old Marian Cruz Hurtado and her son Corbin Dallas Barraza in the 1700 block of Mannheim Road where they lived, according to Stone Park Police Chief Chris Pavini and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Officers were called to the home about 9:50 p.m. Thursday night, authorities said.

Autopsies Saturday found the boy died of multiple stab wounds to his chest and his mother died of multiple injuries from an assault, the medical examiner’s office said. Both deaths were ruled homicides.

Chief Pavini said the deaths appeared to have happened during “an isolated domestic violence incident.” No one was in custody Friday.
