A 21-year-old man was shot Friday evening in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

He was walking at 4:54 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Winchester when he heard shots and was struck in the leg, according to Chicago Police.

The man was taken in good condition to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.

The man, 39, was standing on a sidewalk in the 2000 block of West 36th Street about 10:30 p.m. when someone approached on a bike and opened fire, striking him in the chest, police said.
