SHARE Man, 23, drives to South Side police station with gunshot wound in chest

A man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Wednesday night in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

At 10:20 p.m., the 23-year-old was driving in the 7900 block of South Union Avenue when a male in a passing tan Infiniti sports-utility vehicle fired a bullet to his chest, according to Chicago police. The two are believed to have known each other.

The 23-year-old drove his vehicle to the nearby 6th district Chicago police headquarters, 7808 South Halsted St., where officers spotted him and called an ambulance, police said.

He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized.

About 10 p.m., the person was in the 4200 block of West Congress Parkway when she was struck by a red SUV that fled north on Kildare Avenue, Chicago police said.
Just after 10 p.m., the man, 42, was driving in the 4500 block of South Pulaski Road when he was shot in the back of the head, Chicago police said.
About 1:15 a.m., a 31-year-old man was outside in the 1600 block of North Hamlin Avenue when he was approached by two men in a vehicle who began shooting, Chicago police said.
