A man was killed in a shooting Saturday afternoon in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Dwayne Jack, 42, was inside an apartment playing dice when someone took out a handgun and fired multiple shots at 6:41 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Green Street, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Jack, who lived in the Roseland neighborhood, was struck multiple times in his stomach and his chest. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition where he pronounced dead at 7:11 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy Sunday found Jack died from multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Area South detectives were investigating.
