A 32-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday night in Gary, Indiana.

Officers responded at 9:05 p.m. to a call of a male shot at Methodist Hospital’s Northlake Campus, 600 Grant St. in Gary, according to Gary police. When they arrived, officers learned that he had been found laying on the ground near an ambulance after a vehicle dropped him off near the emergency room doors. The vehicle then took off.

The male, identified as 32-year-old Patrick A. Williams, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his back in the 2500 block of West 13th Avenue, according to police and the Lake County coroner’s office. Williams, who lived in Gary, was pronounced dead just before 10 p.m.

His death was ruled a homicide, the coroner’s office said.
