A 4-year-old boy was injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in South Shore.

About 8:45 a.m., the boy was on a sidewalk with his aunt near the intersection of 67th Street and Jeffery Boulevard when a driver struck another vehicle, pushing it into the boy and aunt, Chicago police said.

Paramedics took the boy to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition, according to police. His injuries were upgraded to not life-threatening.

Police said the aunt was also injured in the crash and taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The driver who started the chain-reaction crash was issued a citation, police said.
