A CPD squad car and a CFD ambulance crashed into each other Oct. 19, 2019 while responding to a shooting in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

A man was shot Sunday afternoon in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

About 1:35 p.m., the 45-year-old man was standing in the 4200 block of West Washington Boulevard when someone in a vehicle drove up and fired one shot before fleeing, Chicago Police said.

The victim was shot in the lower left leg and showed up at Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

No one was in custody as detectives investigated.
