A teenage boysuffered a self-inflicted gunshot woundMonday night in the North Kenwood neighborhood on the South Side.
The 17-year-old shot himself in the foot about 5:50 p.m. in the 4600 block of South Ellis, Chicago Police said.
Police originally reported that the victim was walking down the street when he heard shots and felt pain. About 8:20 p.m. police said the gunshot wound was self inflicted.
He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
