A man was shot Wednesday evening in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 26-year-old was walking about 7:30 p.m. when someone came up to him in the 700 block of North Avers and shot him in the arm, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Norwegian American Hospital in good condition, police said.
