A man was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

The 22-year-old was standing outside at 9:26 p.m. in the 100 block of North Lockwood when someone in a passing brown van fired shots, striking him multiple times in the back, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Area North detectives were investigating the shooting.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
