Man found shot to death in Englewood

Authorities have identified a man found shot to death early Thursday in the Englewood neighborhood.

Police responded to a call of shots fired and found 43-year-old Donnell Horton lying on a sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his back and legs at 12:54 a.m. in the 6900 block of South Sangamon Street, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

He was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:13 a.m., officials said. He lived in the Gresham neighborhood.

Area South detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
