Man fatally shot in Austin

A man was shot to death Thursday evening in an Austin neighborhood shooting.

The man, 28-year-old Terrance Cox, was shot in the back and abdomen about 5:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Mason, Chicago Police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said. He was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

Cox was a resident of East Garfield Park, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Area North detectives are investigating the shooting.
