According to an official statement released by Kensington Palace, regarding the design of the dress, the veil is five meters long, made from silk tulle with hand-embroidered 53 flowers in slik thread and organza. The 53 flowers represent the 53 countries of the British Commonwealth. The tiara is Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, lent to the bride by Queen Elizabeth. The diamond bandeau is English and was made in 1932, with the entre brooch dating from 1893.
The dress isw made from double bonded silk cady and featured an open bateau neckline. The lines of the dress “extend towards the back where the train flows in soft round folds cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza. The slim three-quarter sleeves add a note of refined modernity.”
As they stood at the altar, Harry said to Meghan: “You look amazing.”
