A 37-year-old man was shot Tuesday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side.

The man was standing on the sidewalk at 8:13 p.m. in the 4400 block of South Hermitage when a dark-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, striking him in the back, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital where his condition had stabilized, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
