A 39-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting Monday night in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.

The man was standing on a sidewalk about 9:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of South Oakley when someone in a gray sedan fired shots, striking him in the right leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, police said.

Area South detectives were investigating the shooting.
