Evanston rising sophomore Blake Peters began the ESPYS competition for the year’s best play as the No. 7 seed but he’s blasted past that and into the final four of the competition.

Peters went up against an NFL highlight in the second round and is now facing two college highlights and another NFL highlight in the final four.

“I’ve seen lots of great plays in producing sports all these years. But, January 26 marks a perfect sports moment when Blake Peters mustered up a one-handed, 80-foot shot,” Fred Weintraub, Executive Producer Game of the Week, Weigel Broadcasting said. “It’s been an honor to watch this freshman handle this once in a lifetime moment and now for the country to be able to re-live it.”

Voting for the award runs through Saturday on ESPN’s site.
