A mother and daughter were both killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday night in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates, police said.

The crash happened about 9:35 p.m. at the intersection of Route 72 and Beverly Road, according to Hoffman Estates police.

Mary Kendzior, 82, and her daughter, 50-year-old Lisa Kendzior, were taken to hospitals where they died from injuries related to the crash, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. They both lived in South Barrington.

Autopsies Sunday found that both women died from multiple injuries sustained in the crash. Their deaths were ruled accidents, according to the medical examiner’s office.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 48-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were believed to be life-threatening, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
