A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday night in the South Shore neighborhood.

Natwan Holyfield was standing on the sidewalk about 9:25 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain in the 1900 block of East 74th Street, according to Chicago police.

Holyfield was shot in the chest and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, police said. He lived in the South Chicago neighborhood.

Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
