John Schwickert, 54, of Westmont, was riding his 2017 Harley Davidson about 7:25 p.m. when he crashed into the rear of a pickup truck near Illinois Avenue and View Street, Aurora police said in a statement.

Witnesses told investigators that Schwickert was allegedly speeding eastbound on Illinois Avenue when he ran a stop sign and hit the truck, police said.

Schwickert was rushed to a hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released, police said.
