A man has died several days after he was struck by a vehicle in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.

A 43-year-old man died of complications from the crash on Aug. 17 at Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The man was struck by a vehicle 10 days earlier about 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 7 in the 4300 block of South California Avenue, the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in the same neighborhood where he was hit.

An autopsy released Monday found he died from complications of multiple injuries from the crash, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled accidental.

Chicago police said the driver of the striking vehicle stopped at the scene and was issued traffic citations. An investigation was ongoing, police said.
