A 50-year-old man who was pulled from Lake Michigan in Waukegan Sunday after falling from his jet ski has died, the Lake County coroner’s office said.

The man, of Mundelein, was taken to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan in critical condition following the rescue but succumbed to his injuries soon after, the coroner’s office said.

An autopsy performed Monday found that he drowned, the coroner’s office said. Toxicology results are pending.

The investigation into his death is ongoing.
