Chicago police are warning vehicle owners of three armed carjackings reported in September in West Town on the Northwest Side.

In each incident, one to three men approached the victim, flashed a handgun and demanded their vehicle, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The carjackings happened:

  • About 10:30 p.m. Sept. 3 in the 700 block of North Wolcott Avenue;
  • About 6:50 a.m. Sept. 8 in the 400 block of North Ashland Avenue; and
  • About 7:20 p.m. Sept. 10 in the 900 block of North Wood Street.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
