A 26-year-old man was killed in a vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.

He was driving south on Western Avenue about 4 a.m., when he swerved in the 4600 block of South Western Avenue and struck a tree, Chicago police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Rafael Gutierrez.

An autopsy found he died of multiple injuries from the crash and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said. He lived in Avondale.

Chicago police are investigating the crash.
