Zachariah Votruba caught this muskie Thursday in Bloomingdale on a Vision 110 Bluegill jerkbait.

“I didn’t have a tape on me, but I would guess the length at 43-45ish,” he messaged. “Was not expecting the bite. Hit it in about a foot of water. Released healthy for the next angler.”

FOTW, the celebration of big fish and their stories (the stories matter) around Chicago fishing, runs Wednesdays in the Sun-Times. Submit nominations by message on Facebook (Dale Bowman), on Twitter (@BowmanOutside) and Instagram (@BowmanOutside) or email (BowmanOutside@gmail.com).
