Jim Lenc glassed a big tom at 150 yards with a jake and a hen in Woodford County. It took 45 minutes to work it to his jake and hen decoys.

“The hen came through first, then the tom and jake made a 30-yard sprint for my spread,” emailed Lenc, who made a 20-yard shot on the run.

TOTW, the celebration of the stories of turkey hunting around Chicago outdoors, runs Wednesdays in the Sun-Times as warranted. Submit nominations by message on Facebook (Dale Bowman), on Twitter (@BowmanOutside) and Instagram (@BowmanOutside) or email (BowmanOutside@gmail.com).
