Woman struck, killed by vehicle in Northlake

A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle over the weekend in suburban Northlake.

Maria Alba, 37, was struck about 10:26 p.m. April 3 at Mannheim Road and Major Drive, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

She was pronounced dead at 10:55 p.m. at Gottlieb Hospital, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy found she died of blunt force injuries from the crash and ruled her death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.

Northlake police didn’t immediately respond to a request for details.
