The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning July 24, 2021, for Chicago, Evanston and Cicero, Illinois.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Chicago and neighboring suburbs Saturday.

The warning, which includes Chicago, Evanston and Cicero, Illinois, is expected to last until 5:15 p.m., officials said.

Storms could bring with them winds up to 60 MPH and hail, officials said. In the event of severe weather, residents are urged to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
