Chick-fil-A launches mobile ordering, payment options

Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Chicago area are among the first in the chain to use mobile payment and ordering features on the company’s mobile app.

The Atlanta-based company on Monday launched the payment and ordering features for 130 restaurants. In tests since 2013, the chain expects to have the features in use companywide by the end of 2016.

“Mobile ordering is all about giving customers the flexibility and choice to order what they want, when they want it, and how they want it,” said Khalilah Cooper, leader of digital ordering strategy at Chick-fil-A. “It’s perfect for any customer who is short on time, and it’s also convenient for families with children who want to customize a large order and avoid standing in line at the front counter.”

Users load money onto their Chick-fil-A app via a credit or debit card. Customers make their menu choices on the app, click the pay button and scan their account’s quick response code at the register or drive-up window. The food is prepared when customers “check in” on the app.
