A 69-year-old woman was injured Wednesday when she was struck by a van that lost control and flipped over before catching fire in the South Loop.

The van was northbound about 9 p.m. on South King Drive when it lost control near Cermak Road and hit the woman, Chicago police said. The van flipped over and caught fire while the occupants fled the scene.

The woman was treated at an area hospital, police said. She is expected to survive her injuries.
