Man shot to death in Chatham

A man was killed in a shooting Friday in Chatham on the South Side.

Tyler Pearson, 19, was shot at 12:21 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Dobson, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:09 p.m., authorities said. He lived in Bronzeville.

His death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner’s office. An autopsy conducted Sunday found he died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Area South detectives are investigating.
