Man, 41, killed in Fernwood shooting

A man was shot and killed Tuesday during an argument in Fernwood on the South Side.

Lloyd McGee, 41, was arguing with a male about 2:24 p.m. in the first block of West 107th Street, Chicago police and the Cook County’s medical examiner’s office said.

The male McGee was arguing with pulled out a handgun and fired shots, striking him in the head, authorities said. McGee was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He lived in the Roseland neighborhood.

An autopsy released Wednesday found he died of a gunshot wound to the head, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.

Area South detectives are investigating.
