2 shot in East Garfield Park

One person suffered a gunshot wound to his leg inside an apartment in the 2800 block of West Wilcox Street, police said. A second person was shot outside.

Two men were wounded in a shooting Friday in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

A 36-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his leg at 12:08 p.m. inside an apartment in the 2800 block of West Wilcox Street, according to Chicago police. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

Another man who was outside was also hurt by gunfire, police said. The 27-year-old showed up at Stroger Hospital, where his condition was also stabilized.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known, according to police.

Area North detectives are investigating.
