A man was shot and killed Wednesday in the South Chicago neighborhood, according to police.

About 6:30 p.m., 29-year-old Oliver Furlow was on a sidewalk in the 8300 block of South Colfax Avenue when someone in a vehicle fired shots at him, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Furlow was hit in the abdomen and taken to South Shore Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

An autopsy released Thursday found he died of a gunshot wound to the neck, the medical examiner’s office said.

No arrests have been reported. Area South detectives are investigating.
