A 15-year-old boy was killed in a shooting Sunday in Austin on the West Side.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert about 2:19 a.m. in the 5100 block of West Washington Boulevard and found the teen unresponsive with gunshot wounds to the leg and back, Chicago police said.

Dovantae Jackson was pronounced dead on the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in the area, and an autopsy Sunday ruled his death a homicide by multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said there are no witnesses to the shooting.

Area North detectives are investigating.
