Man shot at Geneva storage facility

A man was wounded in a shooting at a storage facility Sunday in west suburban Geneva.

The 30-year-old St. Charles man was shot in his neck and back at 9:13 p.m. at the Public Storage at 2324 Gary Lane, according to a statement from Geneva police.

He was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva, police said. He remains hospitalized with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

His girlfriend, 26, was nearby at the time of the shooting and spoke with investigators, police said. She was not injured.

Police said the man appeared to be the shooter’s intended target and investigators “do not believe there is a threat to the general public at this time.”

The shooting remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Geneva police at 630-232-4736.
