Chicago police are warning Grand Crossing residents of burglaries reported in September in the South Side neighborhood.

Someone is breaking into homes and garages and stealing copper piping and tools, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

These burglaries occurred:

  • Between Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 at two separate homes in the 7300 block of South Kenwood Avenue;
  • Between Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 in the 1300 block of East 75th Street; and
  • Sept. 12 in the 7400 block of South Blackstone Avenue.

The burglaries all happened during the afternoon hours, police said.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
