South Shore apartments targeted by burglar, Chicago police say

Each burglary happened between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., police said.

A 28-year-old man was killed and a 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting April 7, 2020, in Gresham. — Four apartments were burglarized in December 2019 in South Shore on the South Side.

Chicago police are warning residents of four burglaries reported in December in South Shore on the South Side.

In each incident, someone forced open a door, entered an apartment and took clothing and electronics from within, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The burglaries happened between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.:

Dec. 16 and 19 in the 7600 block of South Colfax Avenue;
Between Dec. 16 and 28 in the 2400 block of East 77th Street; and
Dec. 30 in the 2700 block of East 76th Place.
