Teen boy shot in Back of the Yards

The boy, 16, was sitting on a porch about 11:55 p.m. in the 5300 block of South Laflin Street when someone fired shots, Chicago police said.

A teenage boy was shot Tuesday in Back of the Yards on the South Side.

The boy, 16, was sitting on a porch about 11:55 p.m. in the 5300 block of South Laflin Street when someone fired shots, Chicago police said. He showed up at St. Bernard Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand, and was listed in fair condition.

The boy told officers he did not see the shooter or know where the shots came from, police said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
