A robbery was reported Feb. 19, 2020, in the 5000 block of South Leamington Avenue.

Police are warning residents on the Southwest Side of a series of robberies reported this month in West Lawn, Archer Heights, West Elsdon and Garfield Ridge.

In each case, the suspects approached victims and demanded their property, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The robberies happened:

  • About 12:30 a.m. Feb. 13 in the 6200 block of South Kostner Avenue;
  • About 12:24 a.m. Feb. 13 in the 5500 block of South Kedvale Avenue;
  • About 9 p.m. Feb. 18 in the 5000 block of South Archer Avenue;
  • About 10:30 p.m. Feb. 19 in the 5800 block of West 53rd Street; and
  • About 10:37 p.m. Feb. 19 in the 5000 block of South Leamington Avenue.

The suspects were described as three 19 to 24-year-old men standing 5-foot-6 to 6-foot-2.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
