Teen shot in Humboldt Park

The 14-year-old was standing outside when someone in a red-colored vehicle opened fire, police said.

A 14-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Friday in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

He was standing outside about 3:30 p.m. on North Springfield Avenue when a red-colored vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

The teen was struck in the leg and treated at the scene, police said.

Area Four detectives are investigating.
