Man charged with carjacking after crashing in the Loop

Treyvon Marks was charged with a felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.

Bail was denied Thursday for Jesus Garcia, 22, accused of fatally shooting a 25-year-old man on Sept. 17 in Logan Square. — A man has been charged with a carjacking June 11, 2021, in the South Loop.

A man was arrested and charged with a carjacking in South Loop after he crashed just blocks away.

Treyvon Marks, 26, was charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, according to Chicago police.

About 2:10 a.m. Friday, he carjacked a 30-year-old man in the 200 block of West Harrison Street, police said. About five minutes later, Marks crashed in the 700 block of South Wells Street and was taken into custody.

He was due in bond court Sunday.
