A man was killed and another man wounded in a shooting Monday morning in Lawndale on the West Side.

The men were outside just after 2 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Kildare Avenue when they were struck by gunfire, Chicago police said.

One man, 35, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Aaron James Poole, a resident of Chicago Lawn.

The other man, 62, suffered a gunshot wound to the knee and was taken to the same hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.

No one is in custody, according to police.

The men, 18 and 20, were in the 1800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m. when two people got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots. They were hospitalized in fair condition.
