Amy Schumer sets charity comedy show in Chicago with ‘Trainwreck’ co-stars

Amy Schumer will bring several of the eminent stars of her upcoming movie “Trainwreck” to Chicago next month for a show to help charities and hype the film.

The fast-rising Comedy Central star will perform June 18 at the Harris Theater. Joining her will be the “Trainwreck” director, Judd Apatow (“Knocked Up”), along with actors Colin Quinn, Mike Birbiglia, Vanessa Bayer and Dave Attell.

Tickets, $100 each, are on sale now at harristheaterchicago.org. All proceeds will benefit Youth Guidance and YCMA Chicago’s Urban Warriors.

The show is part of the group’s Trainwreck Comedy Tour,” which will bring the comics to seven cities in eight days. Other shows are set in Boston, New York, Toronto, San Francisco, Seattle and Los Angeles.

The comedian has been on a roll with her series “Inside Amy Schumer” as recent sketches about the aging of actresses, the talk-show dynamic and Schumer’s own looks have gone viral. She hosted the MTV Movie Awards in April and has lined up an HBO stand-up special directed by Chris Rock.

“Trainwreck” comes out July 17.
