Dylan Lauren, the daughter of fashion mogul Ralph Lauren — who has successfully launched her own small chain of candy stores, is coming to Chicago.

The fifth free-standing Dylan’s Candy Bar is scheduled to open next spring at 445 N. Michigan Ave, in converted museum space located in Tribune Tower. Prior to that, the store will have a partial holiday season preview opening in November.

The Windy City branch follows the opening of Dylan’s Candy Bar boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, Miami Beach and East Hampton. In addition, the company maintains smaller shops in airports in New York and Detroit, plus in two resorts.

The Chicago store will be the chain’s first Midwest outlet. The store is being designed to occupy 13,000 square feet on two floors.

The store will feature a mind-boggling array of more than 7,000 candies from all over the world. It also will have a full-service cafe and bar which will be available for private birthday parties and corporate events.

In a statement, Lauren said she was excited to be coming to Chicago “where many candy entrepreneurs started companies and experienced the American Dream.”
