Cook County soon will have a new state’s attorney in both real life and on TV.

Carl Weathers, best known as Apollo Creed from the “Rocky” movies, will play State’s Attorney Mark Jefferies on “Chicago Justice,” the proposed fourth NBC series in producer Dick Wolf’s “Chicago” franchise, the Hollywood trades reported.

The character will be introduced on the May 11 episode of “Chicago P.D.,” a “back-door pilot” for the new drama.

Weathers is the biggest star yet on “Chicago Justice” (formerly called “Chicago Law”). He joins a cast that includes Philip Winchester, Nazneen Contractor and Joelle Carter.

Wolf announced Weather’s hiring Saturday during a panel at PaleyFest, a Hollywood festival for TV fans.
