Michelle Obama is billed as a guest host on ABC’s “The View,” but at the beginning of the show, she is cast in the role of a news maker guest.

Obama, the subject of a front page New York Times Tuesday story (see link in earlier post) brushed aside the suggestion on “The View” that she went on the show to “soften” her image. Earlier Tuesday, chief Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” said the suggestion in the story–that Michelle was undergoing a subtle makeover–was wrong.
