DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This briefing is closed press. The President will then meet with Lieutenant General Karl Eikenberry, U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan, via videoconference in the Situation Room. This meeting is closed press.

The President will meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press. Later, the President will meet with Speaker Nancy Pelosi for lunch in the Private Dining Room. This is closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will sign into law the Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act, which guarantees a timely and predictable flow of funding for Department of Veterans Affairs medical care. He will deliver brief remarks and be joined by Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki, Members of Congress, and leaders from various Veterans Service Organizations in the East Room ceremony. This event is open press.

Later, the President will meet separately with Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.

Also tomorrow, Commerce Secretary Gary Locke will host a Clean Energy Economy Forum with business leaders from around the country at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building at 12:30 PM EDT. Energy Secretary Steven Chu and other Administration officials will also be featured speakers at the forum, which will include a focus on ensuring American competitiveness and leadership in the emerging clean energy economy.
